ACTS are lining up to take part in a musical evening to raise money and awareness of a little-known Northwich charity.

Tickets are already on sale for the Magic of the Music, which takes place at the Harlequin Theatre, in Queen Street, on October 4.

The event has been organised by Northwich woman Joanne Storey who was approached by former town mayor Bob Robinson to see if she could help the Multisports club.

The organisation, which is run by volunteers and meets at Northwich Youth Centre, gives disabled children and young people chance to take part in sports activities, arts and crafts and circus skills.

It was funded by grants but became a registered charity earlier this year when its funding was cut.

Joanne said: "It's about getting their name out there as well to say what a good job they do.

"They're a smashing group, they're like a family because they're so welcoming – the volunteers can't do enough for the kids and they're smashing kids."

The Magic of the Music line-up is yet to be confirmed but looks set to include the Harlequin's youth theatre group, Northwich Has Got Talent finalists, Laura Bason, Barbara Turner and Quicksteps School of Dance.

Tickets, priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, are available from Curtain Magic, in High Street, or by ringing 01606 606033.
