TARPORLEY High School head teacher Sarah Lee has expressed her “overwhelming pride” in her students following their GCSE results.

The class of 2014 achieved an impressive 86 per cent A* to C in both English and maths GCSEs.

“Impressively, these gifted and hardworking students have also achieved the school’s highest ever percentage of top grades, with the highest ever number of A*s and 35 per cent of all grades awarded at A*/A,” said Sarah.

“Our students have shown outstanding commitment and motivation throughout their time at Tarporley, which is reflected in their academic results.

“We continue to achieve exceptionally high results, with every student passing at least five GCSEs, enabling all to progress to A Level study at our sixth form college or to pursue their chosen college and training courses.”

She thanked families for their support over the past five years, and congratulated the staff, including year leader Michael Hutchinson.
