DAVENHAM student Tim Ray delivered a key speech during a ceremony at his college to mark the unveiling of a £100,000 ground floor extension.
In his speech, Tim, 17, who attends Abbey College in Manchester, described his time at the city centre-based college, and how it has helped him to become the person he is today.
Abbey College is an independent sixth form college, and Tim is studying economics, English Language and geography at AS Level.
He said: “I joined the college because of its strong emphasis on personal support, good reputation and small class sizes.
“The college is really wonderful with so many amazing qualities, and the activities and timetable are well balanced, giving students the time to relax and work hard to achieve our grades. This is the one college I would recommend to anyone.”
Liz Elam, college principal, said: “The opening ceremony is a wonderful celebration of such an important investment, marking the culmination of months of planning.”
