NORTHWICH Town Council is challenging children in the town to pick up their paintbrushes and show off their creative talents in a Christmas picture competition.

Young people are being invited to show their festive flair and create a suitable yuletide image, with the winning entry featuring on the front of service sheets, which are being kindly supplied by The Co-operative Funeralcare for Northwich Town Council’s annual ‘Tree of Lights’ ceremony in December.

The pictures should be no larger than A4 in size and must include the name, age and contact telephone number of the artist on the back.

Entries should be submitted to The Co-operative Funeralcare on 31 London Road, Northwich, CW9 5HQ, by Friday, 14 November. The winning entry will be picked by the Northwich Town Mayor, Clr Alison Gerrard.

The annual Tree of Lights ceremony enables families to write a star in dedication of a loved one who has passed away, which are laminated and placed on a tree of lights.

The ceremony will be held at Witton Cemetery on Saturday, December 6, at 6pm.
