A LEFTWICH crack house has been shut down as part of the police’s continued clamp-down on town-wide drug-dealing.

Officers boarded up 15 Redesmere Close after securing a ‘crack house closure’ from Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday October 16.

Long-term drug user Tony Bloor, 35, who has previous conviction for intending to supply heroin, resided at the Weaver Vale Housing Trust property with 32-year-old Vanessa Williams.

The court heard that information had been flowing to police for a number of years in relation to drug dealing at the premises, with complaints as recent as October 13.

A drug warrant was executed at the property on August 27 and, although no drugs were found, officers located drug paraphernalia, including spoons and foils.

Cheshire Police solicitor Elizabeth Heavey said: “Residents have reported anonymously that their quality of life has been affected by the activities at the address and that they are frightened and disturbed by the incidents.”

The closure went unopposed by the tenants and the court heard that Williams handed the keys to the property back to Weaver Vale Housing Trust on the morning of the grant request.

The three-month closure order is the latest police effort to curb drug dealing across Northwich.

On the same morning that the order was granted, three drug raids were carried out on Northwich addresses as part of Operation Impact.

The raids led to two males and five females being taken into custody to be questioned about the supply of controlled drugs.
