POLICE are investigating after pedestrians said strangers tried to get them to into a white van between Davenham and Moulton.

Residents on Moulton's Facebook site said that two separate men were approached in Jack Lane by men in a white van who asked them to get into the vehicle.

This featured in the crime roundup sent to Moulton Parish Council by PCSO Kevin McShane.

Phil Sanders, parish council clerk, said: "You may have heard about an incident with a white van in Moulton.

"PCSO McShane says he is currently looking into it and will get back with any concrete detail."

Mr Sanders also said that the latest crime report for Davenham, Moulton, Bostock and Stanthorne, which covers incidents in October, showed 75 reported incidents.

These included five incidents of anti-social behaviour, five of theft and 10 of suspicious activity with the remainder road related incidents.

"That's about average for a month in terms of reports made to the police and PCSO," Mr Sanders said.
