FIGHTING organised crime on a national scale has been the main issue for Cheshire Police this month.

The force invited around 100 people to its Winsford headquarters for a conference about how to share intelligence, disrupt criminality, reduce the impact on the local community and protect the vulnerable.

Officers were joined by representatives from local councils, housing associations, CPS, probation, immigration and health organisations.

Assistant Chief Constable Guy Hindle said: "This is the first time in Cheshire that we have brought all partners together to discuss organised crime in this way.

"This was a great opportunity for everyone to be in one place at the same time, talking about the issue and how it has an impact on them as well as how we can all better share information and intelligence and protect those most at risk of organised criminals."
