VETS Patrick Murphy and Ruth Taylor have been nominated for national veterinary awards.

Patrick is the owner of Northwich Vets in Manchester Road, Lostock Gralam, where he works alongside Ruth.

They have been nominated for the Vet of the Year award in the 2015 Petplan Veterinary Awards, which are due to be presented in April.

Northwich Vets has been nominated in three categories, Vet of the Year, Practice of the Year and Practice Manager of the Year, and Patrick thanked the practice’s clients for their support.

He said: “We are all pleased to have been nominated, and would like to thank all of our loyal clients who made the effort to nominate us and voted in huge numbers.

“Our aim is to always treat your pet as if they were one of our own, and we hope to be attending the awards ceremony this April.”

Each year Petplan holds an awards ceremony recognising the care and dedication of veterinary practices around the UK.

It is often referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the veterinary world, and the awards provide an opportunity for pet owners to say thank you to those who go the extra mile.

People putting forward a nomination were asked to provide examples of why a practice or someone in the team deserved an award, such as going beyond a client’s expectations or helping to make a difficult experience for a pet owner or their pet more bearable.

Nominations are judged by an independent panel of leading people from the veterinary industry, and three finalists will be selected in each category and invited to attend April’s award ceremony, where the winners will be announced.

Northwich Vets opened in 2011, is an independently-owned practice, and the practice manager is Katy Armstrong.
