SIGNS have been put up in a bid to stop an increase of dog fouling in Davenham.

Concerned residents, who have written to the parish council and attended its latest meeting, said the main problem areas are around the school and in Green Lane.

Cllr Andy Duff, parish council chairman, said: "We've had correspondence that there's been an increase of dog fouling between Firth Fields and Charles Avenue.

"This has been reported to Cheshire West and Chester Council and we've put some signs up."

He added: "There seems to have been an increase around the whole village."

Residents said they feared the impact of the new housing development off Green Lane.

One resident said: "There's been an increase of dog fouling in Green Lane, especially since those 37 houses went up."

Cllr Duff said: "It seems to be that there's times when it's worse and times when it's better but it raises it in people's consciousness."
