POLICE are warning motorists they will receive fixed penalty tickets for obstructive parking.

Northwich Police have received complaints about people parking their cars over the ends of the alleyway between Moreton Street and Appleton Street in Winnington.

“These cars are causing an obstruction for people trying to get in and out of the alleyway, and making the manoeuvre impossible,” said the police.

A police spokesman said officers would be attending to issue fixed penalty tickets to those vehicles causing an obstruction, and motorists are being asked to drive and park with consideration for other road users.

Police warned motorists today via twitter that tickets would be issued for obstructive parking – “Please don’t park at the top of the alleyway between Appleton and Moreton Streets, Winnington. Cars cannot get out of the alleyway. Tickets will be issued.”
