FIREFIGHTERS rescued a teenager from a roof last night after he became stuck when retrieving a football.
The 14-year-old climbed onto the roof of a single storey building at McDonald’s in Northwich town centre to get the ball.
However he could not get back down, and the police called firefighters to help.
A fire engine and rope rescue unit from Knutsford attended the incident in the High Street, and firefighters used a seven-metre ladder to rescue the boy, who was able to climb down himself.
The boy had been playing football with friends, and firefighters attended the scene just after 7pm. They were there for about 10 minutes.
