MARBURY swimming pool’s changing rooms have been given a makeover by supermarket staff and a local firm.

Staff from Tesco at Northwich and TB Electrics gave up their free time to give the rooms a new coat of paint.

Marbury Swimming Pool, which is part of Marbury Country Park, dates back to the 1930s, when the swimming pool was built and used during the war. The pool is still open, and is run by volunteers.

Louise Bennett, director of TB Electrics and a member of Marbury Pool Committee, said: “Marbury Country Park really is a beautiful place for families to visit, and the swimming pool is also perfect for a day out for families to enjoy during the summer.

“The changing rooms are quite old and needed a lick of paint, so we teamed up with several volunteers from Tesco and gave the changing facilities a makeover.

“We’re delighted to have given up our spare time to help our local community.”

Julie Hamman, personnel manager at Tesco said: “We were more than happy to donate our time to give Marbury Swimming Pool a makeover.

“Helping our local community is great, and we pride ourselves on being fortunate enough to be able to help with local amenities such as helping to prepare Marbury for the opening of the pool for the year.”

The pool is open between May and September, and is open to members and non-members. To find out more about the pool visit www.marburypool.org.
