A CHILDREN’S group leader from Riverside Organic Farm was recently nominated for an international award by parents at the popular ‘Farm Tots’ classes.

Mother-of-two, Traci Miller, from Wincham, received the unexpected nomination for ‘What’s going on for juniors’ awards for her efforts in leading the educational sessions.

‘Farm Tots’, which is attended by parents and their children, is designed to teach two to five year olds about agriculture, animal care and wildlife in a hands-on setting.

Since Traci started in 2013, she has dedicated her time to getting more animals on the farm for the children to learn about, and getting more families involved in the sessions.

Traci said: “I feel honoured to have been nominated. It has always been my dream to work with children and animals.

“Farm Tots is my life. I spend so much time planning the session, just because I love it so much. I’m really proud of what we do.

“My aim is to teach children about wildlife, and get them learning about farming. It is great to promote the lifestyle of Cheshire.

“I have worked hard to make sure there are a lot of animals to learn about. We have beef cattle, organic farm cows and sheep. There are also hedgehogs and loads more.”
