YEAR six leavers will ring in the annual summer fair at Wincham Community Primary School.
The fair takes place on Saturday, July 11, at the school, and is organised by the school’s Family and Friends group.
It opens at 1.30pm with the traditional ringing of the school bell by some of the year six leavers, and runs until 5pm.
The cover of the summer fair programme was created by year two pupil Jessica Bradburn.
The attractions include a barbecue, bouncy castle, bubble football, mega slide, welly throwing, tombola, tea tent, bar and numerous stalls.
There will be performances by Hartford School of Gymnastics, the school choir and band, as well as a samba band and local band Paragon Sky.
A major attraction is the grand draw, which has numerous prizes donated by local businesses, the top prize being a Eurocamp family holiday.
“The summer fair is our major fundraising event of the year, and last year raised about £6,500,” said group chairman Julie Reade, who is organising the fair with group member Carolyn Wall, with the help of other parents.
“It is always very well supported, and we have people coming along who used to attend the school as well as people who live in the village and other areas.”
Admission to the fair is £1 before the day, with tickets available from the school, or £1.50 on the day. Admission is free for children aged three and under.
