SHOPPERS at Waitrose in Northwich have the chance to support the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice this month.

The hospice is one of three organisations being backed by the company’s Community Matters scheme.

Shoppers are given green tokens at the checkout to drop into one of three boxes on their way out to support one of the charities chosen to receive support.

Three charities share £1,000 each month, and the amount each receives is related to the number of tokens it is given by shoppers.

The scheme is also supporting Winsford Wolves Visually Impaired Football Club, and three organisations share this month’s third collection box – the Friends of Forest PTA, Witton Church Walk PTA and Family and Friends of Hebden Green School.

The groups which were supported last month were North West Air Ambulance, St Wilfrid’s Scout Group and Vale Royal Lions, who are to receive £646, £209 and £145 respectively.
