A MYSTERIOUS visitor has been spotted in a Moulton garden.
Resident Katy Creedy had an encounter with the slithery reptile in Summerfield Drive and posted pictures on the village Facebook site in a bid to discover what type of snake it is.
Fellow residents suggested that it was likely to be a grass snake, which is non-venomous, can often be found near water and feeds on amphibians.
One resident said: "It's definitely a grass snake.
"Non venomous and completely harmless to people and pets – tend to eat frogs and small mammals.
"Wonderful to know they are about and welcome in my Summerfield Drive garden anytime.
"Embrace nature and enjoy it – nothing to fear!"
Residents also suggested that it could be on the move following the start of building work by Bovis on neighbouring fields and have let Cheshire West and Chester councillors know as the reptiles are a protected species.
