EARLIER this year Cheshire Constabulary launched the WOW! Awards, encouraging members of the public to nominate officers and staff who had provided outstanding service to the public in Cheshire.

The Constabulary themselves have been nominated and have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Outstanding Customer Service Award.

Chief Constable Simon Byrne said: “The WOW! Awards celebrates is a national independent awards system which recognises positive feedback following interactions between organisations and their customers.

“Many of our staff work in the organisation because they want to make a difference to the lives of people in Cheshire, and often go above and beyond the call of duty to assist the public.

“We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when you need us, where you need us.

“If you’ve had a positive experience with our officers or staff, I would urge you to fill in a WOW! Award nomination form which recognises the positive work that’s being done to help make Cheshire a safe place to live and work.”

There are four criteria to be considered when nominating a person or a team for a WOW! Award:

• It has to have the WOW! Factor - something that really does exceed expectations of good service.

• It has to be recent - we’re looking for examples of great service happening now.

• It has to be genuine – If you’re nominating it has to be a personal experience, something that relates to you.

• You can’t nominate if you have a personal relationship to the nominee - such as family member.

Do you know someone who fits the criteria? Visit the Cheshire Police website and put your nominee forward.
