FIREFIGHTERS are fighting a blaze in former council offices in Northwich town centre.
Cheshire Fire and Cheshire Police received reports of a blaze in the buildings on the corner of Chesterway shortly after 7.45pm this evening, Sunday.
Earlier in the evening Cheshire Police had to close the road as a result of the incident. The road has now reopened.
It is believed the fire is now out but Cheshire Fire remain at the scene.
Cheshire Police tweeted: "Currently dealing with a fire at old council buildings Chesterway in #Northwich. Minor road closures may cause delays.
"Chesterway in #Northwich now closed towards London Road. Fire brigade still on scene and fire believed to be out. Update to follow."
