THE supply of drugs in Cheshire has been disrupted following early morning raids as part of Operation Impact.

Cheshire Constabulary have run two sets of early morning wake-up calls, one this morning – September 30 – with 13 people arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences.

Another set of warrants was served September 16, with 20 people being arrested.

John Dwyer, police and crime commissioner for Cheshire, said: “Drugs have a detrimental impact on our communities. The ripple effect it can have affects not only the victims, but their family and the wider community.

“I want to thank all of the officers and staff involved in this operation, both the visual presence at the locations across the county and with neighbouring forces but also for the hard work done behind the scenes.

“This is helping to remind our communities that the Constabulary are here for them, when and where they need us, and ultimately disrupting crime across the county.

“For operations like this to be a success, local officers need information from the local community.

“I would urge people to get in touch with the police, by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and pass on any information you have.

“For example, if you notice a funny smell, or someone you know is living beyond their means, get in touch and help tackle criminal activity in your local area.”
