POLICE are encouraging the public to come forward with information about drug dealing in Northwich.

The plea comes as officers continue their crackdown on drug dealing at town parks following reports of dealing during the day.

The call for information comes from Inspector Dave Snasdell, who has also issued a warning about the police response to anti-social behaviour over Halloween and bonfire night.

“We are currently planning our Halloween and bonfire initiative for October and the early November period,” he said.

“We are working with our partners, the council, housing providers, schools and fire service to ensure that children are aware of the dangers at this time of year and the fear a small minority cause to residents when they commit anti-social behaviour in the community.

“Please ensure that you ask your children were they are going and what they are doing during these periods.

“We will deal with any incidents robustly, and in some instances if you are a tenant you could face tenancy action as a result of your children’s behaviour.”

Halloween is on Saturday, October 31, and bonfire night is on Thursday, November 5.

Insp Snasdell added that police were continuing to focus patrols at Northwich parks, including Griffiths Park, Carey Park and Vickers Way Park, in response to reports of drug dealing in these areas during the day.

“Without the community coming forward and giving us vital information we cannot target these individuals,” he said.
