VILLAGERS are celebrating the completion of the revamp of the Jubilee Hall in Little Budworth.

The renovation of the hall in Vicarage Lane, which dates from 1897, has been funded by a £13,000 grant from WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund, The Little Budworth Charity and the Little Budworth Jubilee Hall Fund.

Ray Hall, chairman of Little Budworth Jubilee Hall Fund said: “We are delighted with the renovation of the Jubilee Hall and look forward to welcoming new users.

“We are extremely grateful to WREN for providing the funding as we would not have been able to go ahead without its support.

“We are also grateful for a donation from the Little Budworth Charity, which yet again has demonstrated its commitment to making Little Budworth a great place to live with a real sense of community spirit.”

The two old flat roofs were in poor condition, and have been replaced with new insulated ‘warm’ roofs.

In addition the aged boiler has been replaced by a new energy efficient combi heating boiler, which will increase the comfort of hall users.

“On November 6 we held a sell-out Cheshire Rural Touring Arts event in the hall, with 70 mainly local residents attending,” said Mr Hall.

“This was our opportunity to publicise the assistance given to us by WREN in upgrading the hall.”

Richard Smith, WREN’s grant manager for Cheshire, says: “It’s wonderful to see something we have funded finally open and ready to make such a difference to community groups in Little Budworth.

“WREN is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities, and this is a great example of what can be achieved.”

The hall is available for the use of the local community for social events and meetings and by groups and organisations which will benefit the village.

The hall offers an open plan meeting space, chairs, tables, sound system, lighting, kitchen facilities and toilets.

It is an ideal venue for social events and parties, meetings, education and exercise classes on a one-off or on-going basis. Bookings can be made by contacting Dianne Hall on 01829 760348.
