EGG-CITEMENT is building in Northwich as it looks forward to hosting an Easter Extravaganza.

The event takes place on Saturday, March 26, and will see a range of activities throughout the town, including the return of the Easter egg hunt competition.

Organised by Northwich Independent Retailers Association and Northwich Business Improvement District (BID), the competition will see children turn detectives for the day, following a trail of eggs through the town centre, situated in some of Northwich’s independent retail stores.

The shops confirmed as taking part in the hunt are Gilroy Wilson Shoes, Curtain Magic, Crafty Stiches, CRS Consultants, The Northwich Art Shop, Laundry Boutique, Retros Bar and Café Kanya Bar and Bistro.

Once children have found all of the eggs they will go on to win a chocolatey prize.

As well as the Easter egg hunt, Northwich will play host to an array of fun offerings designed to captivate children and provide entertainment for parents.

There will be petting zoos, owls from Vale Royal Falconry and face painting, and Easter bunnies and chicks will be on hand to give out treats and eggs to passers-by, ensuring they don’t go home empty-handed.

The event will culminate with an Easter bonnet parade organised by ArtWork Studios and Gallery, which will see children from local schools walk through the town centre wearing their handmade bonnets.

Northwich BID officer, Mark Henshaw, hopes the town will be even busier than last year, when the event was hailed as a great success by visitors and business owners.

He said: “The Easter Extravaganza is shaping up to be a great day, packed with plenty of fun activities for all the family – last year’s was fantastic and this promises to be even better.

“The children will love the Easter egg hunt competition too, and I’d like to say a massive thank you on behalf of the BID to all of the independent traders who have agreed to take part; Northwich is going to put on a fantastic show once more.”
