POLICE officers continue to search a house in Northwich after a man was charged with threatening to kill police officers.

Trevor Daniels, 58, of Carlton Road, appeared at West Cheshire Magistrates' Court yesterday, Wednesday, charged with two counts of threatening to kill police officers and one count of resisting arrest.

He was remanded in custody and will appear again at Chester Crown Court on March 1.

Northwich Police have spoken out to reassure residents of Carlton Road and Manora Road concerned about the ongoing search.

Chief Inspector Simon Meegan said: “The search of the address on Carlton Road is expected to last for several days.

"Throughout this period officers will be wearing protective clothing when entering the property as a precautionary measure, and a number of partner agencies will be present at the site.

"Although I understand that this may cause concern for some local residents, I would like to reassure them that this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to members of the public.

"Throughout the search period we will try to keep disruption to a minimum to ensure that local residents can go about their daily business as normal. "However, at times there may be the requirement to temporarily close Carlton Road, which is purely for traffic management reasons.

"I would like to thank local residents for their patience and the support that they have shown throughout this investigation."
