PEOPLE are being urged to have a clear-out of their attics and cupboards for an Antiques Roadshow-style valuation at Barnton.

Auctioneer Peter Critchley from Northwich Auction at Barnton has agreed to value items people bring along to Barnton Memorial Hall next month.

‘Barnton’s Antique Roadshow’ is being held by Barnton Community Group at the hall in Townfield Lane on Saturday, March 5, and runs from 2pm to 5pm.

“Peter Critchley has kindly offered his services to value your treasures, be it jewellery, china, ornaments, pictures, clocks or furniture – so come on down and find out the value,” said Janine Hampton from Barnton Community Group.

“Clear out attics and cupboards find those long lost items - you could be in for a very nice surprise.

“The cost of valuations will be £1 for the first item, and 50 pence for any others.

“There is no obligation to sell, but Mr Critchley will be happy to accept any items he deems suitable for auction, should people wish to sell.

“Refreshments will be available at the event for a small charge.

“All monies which are raised will go towards community projects for the benefit of Barnton residents.

“We hope the good people of Northwich will have a look in their lofts or bring along something they may have had sitting on a shelf for years and didn’t know it has any value. There may well be a few pleasant surprises.”
