A NEW video has been produced encouraging people to catch a train, get walking and visit some of Cheshire's attractions, including the Lion Salt Works, along the county's main train line.

Lighter, longer days are here making it an excellent time to get out and about in the area, according to the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership.

And the team at the partnership believe the timing is just right for a new short, snappy video encouraging people to visit everything that the county has to offer.

On the Mid Cheshire Line the newest attraction is the award winning Lion Salt Works in Marston, which can be reached on foot from either Northwich or Lostock Gralam railway stations by walking approximately a mile and a half.

The promotional video has been commissioned by the partnership working with the 'I Travel Smart' initiative.

It is hoped that the video will inspire people to enjoy local days out by train.

John Oates, chair of the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership, said: "The Mid Cheshire Line allows passengers to access some great attractions and the latest place to visit is the award winning Lion Salt Works.

"The great thing about taking the train is that it is part of the day out. Now is the perfect time to enjoy Mid Cheshire by train, and remember those duo tickets (buy one, get second half price)."
