RUNNERS across the country will be packing their trainers and heading to London this weekend for the world's most popular marathon.

Here is our list of Northwich runners who deserve your support after putting the miles in ready for Sunday.

Northwich Guardian:

Kathryn Porter, Sarah Gibbs and Karen Murray's London Marathon story

"Our friend Karen Murray, just over a year to the day, got a phone call at the Manchester Marathon finish line to say her dad had died of MND.

"As friends we never got to celebrate finishing the Manchester Marathon due to the tragic circumstances that surrounded it.

"So this year we are ready to smash London Marathon and will be raising a glass to Colin Jones, who was a much loved and well respected man and chairman of Davenham Cricket.

"They have recently erected a memorial garden for him there and named the bar after him.

"Any donations to MND association will be welcomed."

Trevor Cording's story

The 48-year-old from Acton Bridge says: "It has always been my ambition to run London.

"This year I have the opportunity to run by raising funds for a small charity called Back Care.

"I've also been keeping a blog of my training over the last 16 weeks to keep friends and family up-to-date."
