PLANNING approval is being sought for a wine bar at a former hairdressing salon in London Road, Davenham.

Mr and Mrs Evoy from Chester are seeking planning permission for the change of use of a building which has been vacant for a considerable time.

The aim is to create a wine bar on the ground floor, with separate bed and breakfast accommodation above.

A report accompanying the application said the scheme would create two full-time and two part-time jobs.

“The client wishes to refurbish and renovate the building to create a wine bar,” said the report.

“The building can be readily converted without major alteration. It is also intended to refurbish the first floor accommodation to provide two bed and breakfast rooms.

“The proposed wine bar and B&B use will enhance the social amenities on offer in Davenham.

“Disabled visitors will be able to gain access into the wine bar from the new proposed sliding door located on the side of the building, and a disabled toilet is provided at ground floor level.”

The scheme includes two parking spaces, and full planning approval is being sought from Cheshire West and Chester Council.
