AN appeal has been launched to help find a sawn-off shotgun police believe was used during a confrontation in Leftwich.
At around 9.30pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, a 58-year-old man was threatened by another man at his home in Meadow Grove.
Police officers believe the offender was armed with a sawn-off shotgun. The man allegedly threatened the victim before leaving in a vehicle.
A 27-year-old man from Leftwich was later arrested but no firearm was recovered.
Cheshire Police have now called on the public to help trace the weapon believed to be used in the offence.
Insp Dave Snasdell, of the Northwich Local Policing Unit, said: “We have not recovered any weapon and are keen for the public to assist us in this enquiry.
“If anyone has any information which would assist in the recovery of this weapon please don’t hesitate to contact the police on 101 or use the Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.”
Jamie Parkes, 27, of no fixed abode, has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, affray and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, July 14, 2016.
