EMERGENCY services attended a crash involving two lorries on the M6 northbound between junction 18 at Middlewich and 19 at Knutsford today.
Two lanes of three were closed following the crash at around 11.30am today, July 20.
Highways England have warned of lengthy delays from junction 19 down to junction 16, with normal conditions not expected to return until around 4pm.
A Highways England statement said: "There are currently severe delays on the M6 northbound between junction 16 and junction 19 due to a collision involving two HGVs closing two lanes of three beween junctions 18 and 19.
"Specialist recovery crews are on scene working to get the vehicle moved
"Road users intending on using this section of road are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journey and to consider alternative routes if possible."
