PUPILS in Leftwich celebrated another year of outstanding GCSE results.

Emotions were running high at The County High School, Leftwich as months of waiting finally came to an end.

Staff were elated to discover that 86 per cent of pupils achieved five or more GCSEs at grades C or above, including English language and maths.

Additionally, 90 per cent of pupils achieved C+ in maths with 42 per cent earning grades A* or A.

In English, 92 per cent gained C+ in with 34 per cent securing the highest grades. Science results were equally impressive, with 90 per cent of students gaining C+ grade.

Julie Brandreth, principal, said: “’Team Leftwich’ has excelled once again.

“Such exceptional performance reflects the strong partnership students and staff develop in this school, underpinned by dedication and sheer hard work. I am immensely proud.”

Ben Keeble was ecstatic to discover his results, which included an A* in physics and As in maths and English.

He thanked his teachers for all their support.

Ben said: "I couldn't have asked for better support from the members of staff here. They have all done their hardest to make sure all our hard work pays off."

Lily Lofthouse couldn't hold back the tears as she discovered her results.

The 16-year-old was celebrating after getting two As, two Bs and four Cs. She was particularly pleased with her C in maths.

She said: "I am really happy, and so relieved. There is just so much pressure.

"I was so surprised about the maths result. I find that quite hard."

Lily’s mum, Claire Lofthouse, was beaming with pride.

Claire said: “I am delighted. I am a very proud mum. I am just so proud of Lily.

“The school are really supportive. The things they do for these kids to make sure they get the results.

"They make all that possible. They enable them to do that.”

Hattie Davis was also in floods of tears as she discovered she had achieved the A* in maths she has worked so hard for.

She also achieved seven As. Hatti said she was ‘relieved’ to find out her results.

Chris Penter, chairman of Governors, added: “I am absolutely delighted that the diligence, talent and determination of all involved have been so justly rewarded.

“We are so proud that this inclusive Academy continues to pursue and achieve the highest standards and outcomes for all our students.”
