CHILDREN helped put the finishing touches to an art project in Northwich Library.

Youngsters attended the library expecting to get up close with some friendly zoo animals, but the event had to be cancelled at the last minute.

Instead, the young ones rolled up their sleeves to help finish the tail of an ‘enormous crocodile’ in the children’s library.

Ian Anstice, locality librarian for Northwich and Winsford, said: “The animal handler from Zoolab was coming to his fully booked event when his van suffered mechanical trouble and he had to phone to cancel.

“On the day, the Northwich team handled the situation brilliantly and got all the children to help add extra tail to the ‘enormous crocodile’.

“This creation is now a sight to behold and stretched all the way around the children’s library.”
