NORTHWICH will be transformed into a winter wonderland again this year when the town hosts 2016’s Christmas Extravaganza.

Plans have been gathering pace since the summer, when representatives from a number of organisations gathered to plan the event, and now more activities have been announced.

Favourite characters and stalls will return, and new surprises await visitors, adding a new dimension to proceedings.

For the first time at an Extravaganza in Northwich there will be a family of reindeers, one of the most iconic animals associated with Christmas.

On top of this, the town will also be able to meet penguins, who are guaranteed to bring fun to the occasion, and there will be Christmas Crazy Golf.

Add to this the lantern parade, Christmas light switch-on, a firework display, Santa’s Grotto and much more, and there are sure to be plenty of magical moments.

Northwich BID Officer Mark Henshaw is counting down the days until this year’s event, which he believes will be the best one yet.

He said: “When you look at the amount of activities lined up and some of the new attractions coming to Northwich this Christmas, you can’t help but feel excited.

“Last year’s event was great, but I feel with additions such as the penguins, reindeers and Christmas crazy Golf, 2016’s offering is going to go one better.”
