TESCO customers can have their flu jab while they shop at the Northwich store.

Vaccinations are available at the Superstore in Manchester Road, from 9am to 7pm on most days between Monday and Saturday and from 11am to 3pm on Sundays.

People can make individual appointments or drop in when the pharmacist is available, but are encouraged to ring first.

“Having a flu jab while you shop is very convenient, and parking is easy at the store,” said Rob Squire, the pharmacy manager at the store.

“The vaccinations we offer help the NHS to meet its targets, and we let your GP know so it is recorded on your medical records.”

The vaccinations are available at the store until the end of January, and the Tesco pharmacy number is 0191 693 4599.

The injected flu vaccine is offered free on the NHS annually to adults over the age of 18 at risk of flu - including everyone aged 65 or over - pregnant women and children aged six months to two at risk of flu.

You are eligible to receive a free flu jab if you are 65 or over, are pregnant, have certain medical conditions, are very overweight, are in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility, receive a carer’s allowance or are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill, or are a front-line health and social care worker.
