What is it?
The homecoming parade in Northwich will celebrate the achievement of rower Matthew Langridge in Rio last month, when he won a gold medal as part of Team GB’s men’s eight.
Hundreds of people are expected to line the streets as an open top bus is driven through the town centre on a pre-planned route.
After the parade, Langridge will be welcomed to Memorial Court for special civic reception hosted by town mayor Cllr Kevin Rimmer.

When is it?
Matthew Langridge’s homecoming parade takes place this Saturday, October 1, from midday.
What is the route of the parade?

The parade starts from Verdin Park at midday. The bus will cross Town Bridge, travel through the Bull Ring and along Watling Street before turning left into Meadow Street.
After passing The Penny Black pub it turns right at Birtwistles butchers, against the flow of the gyratory system, onto Venables Road.
It then turns right, back onto Watling Street, before turning left into the entrance for the Cumberland Street car park before ending at the riverside entrance to Memorial Court.
What is the travel advice?
Police have advised motorists to expect disruption for the duration of the parade, predicted to last approximately half an hour.
