THERE was a special birthday surprise for Barnton youngster Adam Briscoe.
For the 11-year-old, of Highbank, who plays football for the Weaverham under 11s learned he had been chosen to carry a flag at the vital England v Croatia Euro 2008 qualifier at Wembley last Wednesday.
"He was speechless. We didn't tell him straight away. We told him on his 11th birthday which was on November 9," said his dad Christopher.
"He was so excited."
The whole family Christopher, 42, mum Parveen, 44, and sister Yasmin, nine went down to London last Wednesday morning.
Christopher added: "We are looking forward to it."
