RESIDENTS have been creating their own driveways by modifying the public footpath outside their houses.
Cheshire County Council has sent them a letter warning this contravenes the Highways Act.
The letter says that people who have created these driveways can be held liable for any damage to the highway or any injury to third parties as a result of them.
If you want an access you should get permission.
