A NEW deli has enjoyed a successful start to life.
The Stores Delicatessen Hartford is up and running .
It is the brainchild of Northwich born-and-bred Nathan Clays who felt it was just what the area needed.
He said: “Since moving back to Hartford last year I realised it’s something the village was really crying out for.
“My family have owned a convenience store in Cuddington (Premier) for the past 16 years, I've always wanted a deli to focus on really good quality produce, cheese, coffee and fine food, so when I heard a shop was available in the village I decided now was the time."
Nathan grew up in Hartford and moved to Delamere before returning to the village last year.
He opened the deli on Friday, September 8, and couldn’t be happier with how things have gone so far.
“It’s been a great success,” he added.
“We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback and hope the locals see this as an asset to our wonderful village.”
The Stores, at 289a Chester Road, stocks a wide variety of food and drink including charcuterie, cooking ingredients, antipasti, market fruit and vegetables, and frozen ready meals.
It is also making the most of local suppliers with fresh bread and cakes from Chatwins and Cheshire Farm ice cream.
There is also a cheese counter and freshly roasted coffee to take away.
Nathan added: “I've worked hard to get a good mix of quality products from local and national artisan producers.
“We are a very friendly and welcoming team of passionate foodies that are always happy to help!”
