A NEW Cheshire Krazy Races location is set to be announced.
The popular soap box derby will be taking over a “major town” in the county next year, a source has confirmed to the Guardian Series.
This comes following the news that Northwich would no longer be hosting the event, which attracted more than 15,000 visitors this year.
There are already several Krazy Races planned for 2024, including events in Warrington and Stockport, as well as others outside of the county.
The new location won’t officially be announced until Thursday, December 7, but has been described as “a major Cheshire town”.
Speaking previously, Danny Scoffin, head of brand and strategic development at Sarah Belcher Events, said: “Our aim is to bring our brand of crazy, wacky fun to as many people across the country as possible, creating unique memories that last a lifetime while helping rejuvenate high streets up and down the country.
“Northwich was my local Krazy Races so I am personally committed to replacing the Northwich event with another Cheshire location to give our Northwich audience a great day out that isn’t too far away.”

Northwich Town Council hasn’t confirmed why the decision was made to rest Krazy Races, but a spokesperson did say they are looking to get "value for money" with new events.
They added: “Northwich Town Council along with local partners were the main sponsors and supporters of the Krazy Races in 2022 and 2023 and we were thrilled that these events were well attended on both occasions by the local community.
"We wish Sarah Belcher all the best for future events and thank her team for the last 2 years in Northwich.
"The council and its partners are always looking to bring new and exciting events to the town which we will continue to deliver, it is our goal to create a varied calendar of events throughout the year for the whole community and local business.
"All events are looked at to ensure we deliver the best possible experience and value for money."
