Rudheath Social 5 Dukinfield Town 5 (aet, Rudheath win 4-3 on pens)

GOALKEEPER Chris Jones was a hero for Rudheath in the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup on Saturday, heading in a last-minute equaliser before making a crucial save in a penalty shoot-out.

Ryan Jackson then held his nerve to fire Steve Lloyd’s men into the last eight, where they will meet Cheshire League rivals Styal.

Duckinfield had taken the lead inside two minutes thanks to Andrew Morris’ header, but the hosts replied when Jackson diverted Paul Alcock’s header into the net.

Stephen Parry and Liam Greensmith both scored for the visitors before the break, but goals from substitute Craig Millington – with a header – and Jackson again forced extra time.

Parry’s well-struck shot made it 4-3 before Karl Mones added another for the Manchester League Premier Division outfit.

Not to be outdone, Nick Newman’s stylish finish kept alive the hosts’ hopes before Jones then met Chris Latham’s corner.

With the shoot-out tied at 3-3 after six kicks each, Jones parried Dukinfield’s next attempt before Jackson converted for Rudheath.
