A RACE for promotion to the Mid Cheshire Sunday League’s top flight has a new leader, Myprotein.com, after previous pacesetters Broken Cross came a cropper.
Adam Knappy’s treble was a highlight for Myprotein in a 6-2 success against Goostrey, allowing them to capitalise on Cross’ 7-3 reverse at Knights Grange.
Mark Spruce hit four for the Winsford outfit, with Gary Buckley, Liam Jones and David Garstang also finding the net.
In the Premier Division, table-toppers Old Star lost 3-0 at champions Pockets.
Terry Cain’s brace, plus a goal for Scott Taylor, settled the outcome.
Second-placed Lodge shared eight goals with Forest Road at Moss Farm.
