TEENAGERS from Northwich Rowing Club, representing England, were victors at last weekend’s Home International Regatta.

Harry Blake, Jack Radford, Leon Langmead and Sam Harte were fastest in a junior men’s quad at Strathclyde, where they had won in their boat class during the British Championships the previous week.

They were more than a boat-length clear of rivals Scotland by the finish, with crews from Ireland and Wales taking third and fourth place respectively.

Langmead was also part of an England crew, again made up of Northwich members, that had claimed first prize at the previous year’s event.

“It was another great day for the green and gold, this time in England colours,” said Rachel Hooper, captain at Northwich Rowing Club.

Closer to home, at Bewdley Regatta, a senior men’s quad of Finn Lawton, Stewart Plant, Matthew Smith and Zak Trigg were convincing winners in their category.

Meanwhile India Trigg and Abigail Davies claimed the overall honours in a senior women’s double scull, holding off competition from eight other rivals.

Northwich complete the summer campaign at neighbours Warrington’s regatta on Saturday.
