NORTHWICH Sapphires secured second spot in the Warrington and District Summer League’s top flight following a 33-27 defeat of Capricorn in their final fixture.
Goal defence Rachel Banister was the victors’ player of the match in sodden conditions at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College.
And Sapphires’ seconds made sure they finished as runners-up in Division Two following a comfortable 18-6 success against Warrington Town fifths in their last match.
Becky Waterworth’s sharp shooting made her the best on court.
