THERE will be no repeat of last season's run to the FA Cup second round.
This is a different version of Vics, one with only two survivors - goalkeeper Mason Springthorpe and full back Alex Byrne - from a side that put the frighteners on Northampton Town shortly before Christmas.
And, as they have done in each of their matches to date this season, Adam Lakeland's men surrendered a lead.
Dan Cockerline stooped to head in Alex Byrne's cross after quarter of an hour.
However by the time Byrne converted a stoppage-time penalty, they had conceded four times to a team ranked two levels lower.
Five minutes after Vics' opening goal, Sam Noar collected a pass from Liam Tongue before drilling past Springthorpe from an angle to make it 1-1.
Mike Sherrington was then rewarded for his perseverance, wriggling clear of Northwich defenders that blocked his path before finishing neatly.
Cheadle continued to look more likely scorers in the second period, when Sherrington attempted to catch out Vics' number one.
Springthorpe also held on to Luke Hincks' snap-shot shortly afterwards.
A third goal arrived on 59 minutes, when Sherrington swept in Luke Pearson's cross from inside the penalty area.
The home team posted a threat from set-pieces, dealt with unconvincingly each time by Cheadle's back-markers.
Rick Whyatt was denied before fellow substitute Thabiso Magida added to the visitors' advantage in injury time, thumping a cross from the left into the net.
Byrne scored from the spot to make it 4-2, but by then Cheadle had turned attention to a trip to Trafford at the next stage.
