YOU wouldn't believe what happened next without this video footage to prove it.

Winnington Park players and members enjoyed a team night out watching the club's former junior scrum half Gus Warr play for Sale Sharks against Bath in the Gallagher English Premiership at the AJ Bell Stadium on Friday night.

And during a bit of tomfoolery in the South Stand, a blue WPRUFC branded bobble hat was cherry-picked off one man's head and thrown over supporters' heads to the front of the stand where it promptly landed perfectly on a moving pal's head.

It was a throw even world champion darts player Michael Smith would have been proud of.

The footage has gone viral on social media and been picked up by BT Sport for their Rugby Tonight programme.

It turned out to be a great night all round for the Winnington Park folk, with Warr's side going on to defeat Bath 30-27.

Perhaps it provided some inspiration for the Winnington Park team the following day as they achieved their first win of the year, a 42-36 home success against Vale of Lune.

Warr is in his fifth year with Sale having made his debut aged 18 in 2018.

He started out at Burrows Hill age six and came through the ages before joining Bowdon at the age of 13.
