DANNY Moores collected his second Norley League Merit title at Davenham BC.

Moores won the final 21-17 against Glynn Cookson to add his name to the trophy again after his 2017 triumph.

Andy Hamman travels to Monks Sports Club in Woolston, Warrington, on Saturday morning to take part in the BCGBA Champion of Champions event.

Hamman secured qualification by winning the Cheshire Merit and faces the Lancashire Merit champion, Billy Speed, in his first game. The event starts at 10am.

Great Budworth won the Norley League Coronation Cup on Sunday by a single shot over Owley Wood A.

Great Budworth received an 82-shot start and the win by Kath Hankey, 21-18, proved crucial in securing the trophy as Owley Wood ran in nine winners but couldn’t overcome the handicap that their opponents had received.

The finals day of Middlewich RBL’s end-of-season competitions takes place on Sunday, with the pairs competition starting at 11am and the singles at 5pm.

The draw for the pairs is Simon White and Ryan Sandham v Gerwyn and Arwel Davies, David Mayne and Dave Tomlins v Andy Booth and Ant Lloyd, Phil Hughes and Mark Taylor v Owen Cookson and Adi Faulkner, Andy Poynton and Stuart Kellett v Matt Gilmore and Anthony Thompson. The line-up for the singles is Simon White v Ant Lloyd, Dale Spedding v Ryan Sandham, Steve Morrey v Martin Simcock, Owen Cookson v John Rawlinson, Gerwyn Davies v Gaz Stanway, Sam Day v Chris Ward, Spencer McCarthy v Paul Roberts, and Arwel Davies v Ian Howell.

Wharton Cons narrowly missed out on winning the British Crown Green Women’s Club Championship on Sunday, losing the final by the small margin of four shots. The Mid Cheshire Leagues reach their conclusion this week with the final round of fixtures being played over Thursday and Friday night.
