NEIGHBOURS will collide on Saturday with silverware on the line as “trophy time” arrives in the football season.
Following the conclusion of group stages and semi-finals, Middlewich Town and Winsford Town are the last teams standing in the Mid-Cheshire District FA Saturday Challenge Cup.
As such, they will face off to decide who lifts the trophy on Saturday, April 13, with Middlewich playing host at their Seddon Street home ground.
The match kicks off at 3pm and spectators can watch the game for an entry fee of £5 on the gate.
There are currently two divisions between the Cheshire Football League neighbours, with the Witches flying high in fourth place in the Premier Division while Winsford top League Two and look set to mark their inaugural season with promotion.
They have already met in the competition this season and played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Witton Albion’s U Lock It Stadium in the group stages in November.
Middlewich booked their spot in the final by beating Lostock Gralam 1-0 in the semis, while Winsford were 2-0 victors over Knutsford in the other last-four clash.
