IT IS NOTICEABLE from letters published recently and articles written in the newspaper that there is conflict between what should be done about technical offences and inconsiderate parking within the town centre and surrounding areas.

Certain sections of our population either have no knowledge of, or wish to observe any traffic or parking restrictions.

In the Castle area within the past eight days I have seen two cars parked fully on the pavement.

Avoiding this obstruction I was confronted by an older man riding his cycle on the pavement.

Saturday, May 7, driving towards Town Bridge, in Castle Street, I had to avoid a man cycling diagonally across traffic flow from Winnington Hill to mount the pavement leading to Hayhurst Street.

Thursday, May 5, I had voted in the election for a new police crime commissioner for Cheshire.

I would hope that he reads this letter and takes action.

I suggest that a small formation of unmarked mobile units be formed, equipped with suitable vans, cameras and recording equipment, available to move quickly without warning to any community or area.

Car keys, cycles and maybe, mobile phones could be held or confiscated until any fixed penalty or retribution is made.
